"Never Was so Much Owed by so Many to so
Few"
The 9th Annual Veterans Car Show presented by
the Down Shifters of Brooklyn is in the History Books!
The show was held on the beautiful grounds of the Bay Pines Hospital in
St. Petersburg, Florida.
One
of the largest if not the largest car show on the West Coast of Florida was
a huge success thanks to people like Advance Auto
Parts, Troy & George from Biff Burger and
Buffy's Bar-B-Q, Joe Campoli of The Campoli
Law Group, Cross Bayou American Legion Post
252, Taylor Andrews from Dayton Andrews Dodge,
Jerry Mullins
from Mullins Concrete Pumping,Gieco
Insurance, Gator Printing,Rotary
Club of East Lake Sunrise, Herrs Foods,
Dick Gillette, Barry &
Debbie Bragg, and Doug Morgan of Manatee-Metro
Ice.Tommy "B" was back at the helm in the DJ booth. The
biggest thank you is to the participants
and spectators. You
people are awsome standing out in the rain buying auction items. Your
patriotism is above reproach. We appreciate your
attendance and hope you had a good time. We want you to know that the money
raised by this show is given to the Veterans Recreational Fund for use by
the veterans who don't get to leave this hospital. You have asked these men
and women to do a job and secure your freedom, they have responded and have
given of themselves to accomplish this task. They have served in World War
II, Korea, Vietnam, the Gulf War, and now Iraq, they have sacrificed, their
families have sacrificed, and today was your opportunity to welcome them
home and thank then for a job well done. We only got in a 4 hour show so we
didn't beat last years total but the Veterans Recreation Fund will recieve
$14,915.00. Thank you to all who
participated.
