A Memorial Service was Held for Jack Kanakaris at St. Matthew Catholic Church. Jack was a Vietnam Veteran, a Member of the Lords & Ladies of Flatbush, and most of all a DownShifter of Brooklyn Brother. May He Rest in Peace!

Our Own Tommy Mara Presented with the Silver Eagle Patriot Award

Brain Injured Veterans Association Arts & Music Programs is honored to announce that Mr. Tommy Mara, a DownShifter of Brooklyn car club member, has been chosen by members of the United States Armed Forces to be the recipient of the 2012 Silver Eagle Patriot Award. The Award Ceremony to be held on Saturday the 14th of January two thousand and twelve. A Cocktail Reception Preceding Awards Ceremony will start at 6 o'clock in the evening at the Mira Costa Concert Hall, 1 Barnard Drive, Oceanside, California. Tommy received over 6400 nominations .
